Hi. I’m Anna Duckworth, former cofounder and Chief Content Officer of venture-backed CPG brand Miss Grass, which W Magazine called the “goop of cannabis”.
I’m a consulting brand builder, strategist, advisor, board member, and writer working primarily in emergent categories — the ones where regulation, red tape, and stigma are the order of the day. PAPER Magazine called me one of the “50 talented, visionary, individuals pushing culture forward right now.”
I approach brand as a powerful platform to shift the culture. And see competitive POV and good taste as the moat.
I'm fully immersed in the following worlds:
> drugs (dosist, Miss Grass, Fungli)
> women's health and sex tech (Dame)
> climate tech (Cove, Faraday Future)
> death tech (Hello Mortal)
> fashion (Milk Teeth)
> second-stage housing (Harbour House)
> design (Bruce Mau Design, The Alpine Review)
I'm also particularly bullish on women's health, financial literacy, the crisis of tech addiction, accessibility and divorce, dating and loneliness, housing, and death and dying. If you're building around these spaces, let's talk.
WHAT I DO—
I partner with founders and leadership teams as an advisor, a strategic business arm, and a brand and content executive with the scrappy disposition of a recovering founder.
My background as a writer and former journalist informs how I tackle every brand problem: with an eye toward a 10,000 foot narrative view.
I love to build a pitch deck that hits, a brand voice that scales, and a strategy that puts us in first position. If what we're doing makes people uncomfortable, I know we’re on our way.
I’ve established both media and brand partnerships with Beats by Dre, Soho House, Bumble, Dame, UC Berkeley, Lululemon, Alo, Fleur du Mal, Vince, Refinery29, Edie Parker, The Hoxton Hotels, PopSugar, Pax, and Madre Mezcal. My work’s been featured in Bloomberg, Forbes, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone, Business of Fashion, Glossy, W Mag, Financial Times and others.
Some of my other outputs:
> founder mentorship + advisory
> pitch and fundraise materials
> creative direction
> brand voice
> brand strategy
> content + email strategy
> go-to-market strategy
> product roadmapping
> team support, mapping
HOW I WORK—
I operate on a referral basis — part of a larger project to build a more intentional business through partnerships that feel mutually generative. I structure each partnership as a retainer, with a minimum three-month energetic commitment. At any time, I’m never working with more than three partners, allowing me the flexibility to lean in on a sprint as needed.
My goal is to make myself dispensable. I have not been successful if my partners *need* me forever. We build a solid foundation together; off they go!
OTHER CONTEXT—
I’m a grateful single mum, a bookish student of the human body (and condition), a pilates and Ashtanga yoga teacher (I never teach but I take my personal practice seriously nevertheless), a glutton for print magazines and newspapers, and a sun-worshipping Canadian splitting time between Toronto and Los Angeles.
